Stan Smoot is a Class "A" Member of the PGA. Stan Smoot was introduced to golf at age five and began competing at age nine. As an outstanding junior golfer, Stan reached "scratch" level at age fourteen. Stan decided to turn his passion into his profession and joined the PGA where he has gained valuable knowledge in the golf business for twenty years.

"Stan the Man" has earned the respect of his peers as a teacher, player, club fitter, club repair specialist, and promoter of the game. Honors include 2006 Golf Range Magazines Top 50 Intructors in America, 1998 and 1999 Teacher of the Year for Nashville Chapter TN PGA. In March of 2001, a dream of "ownership" in the golf business was realized with the creation of Harpeth Valley Golf Center, where Stan is co-owner and Director of Golf.

Stan's teaching style is bold & direct. He has an "eye" for the golf swing and a "knack" for knowing where to start with the student.

Golf is a very challenging game and does not come easy to any of us. Technique, physical condition, and mental concentration determine our ability to play this wonderful game. You must take responsibility for the physical and mental aspects, and allow a golf instructor to help you with the technical aspect. Experiment with different instructors to find the right one for you.

Become a "student" of the game so you can understand your golf swing and basic ball flight laws. Be realistic with your expectations and have fun learning.
